In a celebration of the human form and its limitless possibilities, the latest edition of #VogueArabia brings together seven women who may not look alike, but share one very important trait — self-acceptance. It is always an absolute pleasure to work with @voguearabia but when I was asked to not only style the shoot but be included in this feature I was gobsmacked. As most of you know I was a Fashion Stylist before becoming a Pro bodybuilder & Online Coach. Yes there were times people made me feel like the laughing stock because I was doing something perhaps a little less mainstream 🙈 but I have never been one to conform. Life to me is still full of mystery and at the end of it all our time is limited. It is up to us to write a story that we enjoy. I was asked what drives me as competing isn’t easy... My response, “We grow the most when we overcome hard things and life has its ways to test us. But we have a choice if we succumb and feel like victims or perish in victory. There are lessons in everything we do.” Let the once-hard things inspire you to push further. Every day is a blessing and there is always so much to be grateful for. I am so grateful for this opportunity and the ability to inspire women to lead a life on their terms with self-belief and acceptance. Be you,the world will adjust. A few weeks ago, I watched everything I owned go up in flames. The walls that held my life, gone in a flash. I stood there with nothing but the clothes on my back, my heart pounding, trying to make sense of how quickly it all vanished. But here’s the thing… Losing everything taught me more about life than I ever imagined. I learned that memories don’t live in things. That the people who show up for you in your darkest hours are worth more than anything money can buy. That I am stronger, braver, and more resilient than I ever believed. There were days I wanted to stay down, crushed by the weight of it all. But every time I wanted to give up, I remembered … We don’t get to choose what happens to us, but we get to choose how we rise. So I’m choosing to rise from the pain, from the fear, from the ashes. If you’re facing your own storm, know that you can rebuild. Even if you’re scared, anxious, and worried.
