@maria_klaumann for @theperfectmagazine issue 9 The brief was virgin suicides by @sofiacoppola meets an essence of Wim Wenders’ Paris Texas, David lynch - Blue Velvet and Quentin Tarantino Pulp Fiction set in an fictional 50’s motel created by us. Our eye petal sculpture for a unique and special project for the transcendent  @atmos Accompanying a text on Jeff VanderMeer’s book ‘Annihilation’ the piece visually represents the following: ‘Atmos ‘Testing the definition of nature and humanity’s place in it.  The author of the critically acclaimed novel Annihilation, a story about a mysterious, unpopulated wilderness known as Area X, is taking his touchstone sci-fi eco-mystery series to new heights with his latest installment. The surprise fourth book of the Southern Reach trilogy centers on Old Jim, a grisly, cynical operative working for the government agency tasked with investigating Area X.  It’s filled with signature moments of startling ecological wonder, and the characters come into contact with a “new weird sublime”—encountering forces of such vivid, profound, and sometimes terrible beauty that it upends everything they thought they knew about the world.
