Stéphane Gaboué’s 𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘈𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘐𝘐 and Yomi Orimoloye’s 𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘞𝘢𝘺 𝘐𝘴 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 offer distinct yet mirroring reflections on solitude, identity, and becoming. Created by two artists based in different countries and working in different mediums, the figures in each work seem to echo one another—both searching, both suspended in the quiet interiors of personal transformation. Installed in conversation within 𝘞𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘙𝘰𝘰𝘮, these works shift the idea of “waiting” from passive time to something more generative. Here, the domestic space becomes a site for process, play, and purpose—a stage where memory unfolds, identities shift, and new possibilities emerge. Stéphane’s cinematic portraits reimagine home as both sanctuary and stage, examining masculinity and queer intimacy with stillness and care. Yomi’s abstract compositions suggest transition and ambiguity, inviting us to sit inside questions rather than seek answers. Together, these pieces speak across borders and disciplines, expanding 𝘞𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘙𝘰𝘰𝘮‘s exploration of interior life as active, imaginative terrain—where becoming takes root in the everyday.
