Last week marked the release of my first book, ‘Ecstatic Release!’, in conjunction with a 20 large scale image installation at @labiennale. Shot over the course of 4 years and printed across 190 pages, it is a body of work which I am so proud of. In 2021 I was commissioned by Wayne McGregor and @labiennale to document the Biennale Danza. Since then I have spent my Julys lurking backstage, in dressing rooms and rehearsal spaces, running around Venice trying to capture what it means to be a dancer. The pictures are truly only as interesting as who is in them and I will be forever moved by all the beautiful dancers who so generously let me into their sacred spaces at sacred moments. Thank you, you are completely magical. And to Wayne, thank you for inviting me in, for sharing this world with me and for your trust in giving me so much creative freedom. What a dream it has been to collaborate with someone who’s creative mind and generous spirit knows no bounds! And of course to @labiennale without whom none of this would be possible. ❤️!
