Pitch Point by Tild Greene explores liminal spaces, thresholds, and points of contact within the urban architecture of Lustra, highlighting the relationship between collective structures and individual experience. Once the seat of the Barony of Cilento and later a feudal holding, Lustra—with its prominent castle—has retained elements of its hierarchical structure, now serving as a backdrop for luxury weddings and celebrations. The artworks Suitors 1, 2, and 3 echo the curve of three arches rising from the existing architecture of the Rocca Cilento hamlet, extending towards the surrounding landscape and buildings. Like bachelor machines (machines célibataires), they remain suspended—aimed at an impossible union between two parts: a forever-unreachable pitch point. Their shapes partly recall the accidental fissures found on the stone surfaces of the Rocca. The Suitors embody fragmentary, desiring bodies that reject normative definitions, reduced to symbolic and poetic purpose. In a similar spirit, Again, a gain, Horizon is a gate installed within a disused football field—leading nowhere and separating nothing. Formed from intersecting arches, it evokes the figure of the Ouroboros or the Möbius strip—symbols of infinity. By playing with symbols—such as those of union and eternity, central to romantic and celebratory narratives—the artist works at the threshold between desire and impossibility, form and function. Revealing fragmented identities and non-conforming affective social spaces, where architecture and form no longer organise power but instead refract and fracture it, Tild Greene opens us to the possibilities of transformation. Really excited about the upcoming opening of Tild Greene’s Pitch Point on Saturday 28 June from 6 pm in Rocca Cilento hamlet in Lustra, Salerno, for Una Boccata d’Arte 25 Project by Fondazione Elpis, Milan. Immersed in the astounding frame of Cilento’s landscapes, Tild Greene developed a sculptural and installative project across the village of Rocca Cilento tapping into the conflating points where architecture and desire, agonistic narratives and love industry encounter — at the Pitch Point where social structures and individual experiences meet and diverge from power construction that shape normative conventions. Can’t wait to welcome all those who will make it on Saturday evening for the opening and a guided tour with the artist around 7.30 pm. Following, a special dj set with an exceptional music performer will be provided. Snacks and drinks are on us. All of this will be made possible by a dream team I’m extra grateful to featuring: Oc @unaboccatadarte @fondazioneelpis that trusted me once again this year with the patience and ever present (emotional and) professional support of the unstoppable @biancabuccioli . The marvellous technical support of the @theflyinggoat and @angeladerosa that opened us the doors of Rocca Cilento and @galleriafonti whose help was more than crucial. TOLERANCE @puntwg opens today with @pennie.key and @debris______ ‘Lived experience, seeping bodily fluids, “nuisance tourism”, urban redevelopment schemes, commercialized culture, and back-handed liberalism, make up the work in TOLERANCE. The exhibition presents the complexities and contradictions between private and public space in Amsterdam.’ Biggest thanks to Clem for being the technical pro and teaching me how to weld.
