First review in, from The Independent: “Packed with insight”, “powerful and engaging” and “a potent defence of a vilified emotion”. Best of all: “Parker’s fluent book […] has wisdom to offer about tackling unhappiness”. Very cool to be named non-fiction book of the month, too. Thank you 🙏🏻 (A ten year old pic of me but don’t tell anyone thanks)

Two weeks since my book Good Anger was published (and 5 years since I started researching it), I’m finally starting to hear from readers what they think in the form of emails, texts and online reviews. The best feedback of all is that it’s helped some people reevaluate their own relationship with anger, away from repressing it at their own expense and towards using it for what it is really for: to energise, inform and protect us. Can’t wait to talk to more people about our most misunderstood emotion 😡 🙂

I’m not sure if anyone can come back from contempt in a relationship. Arguing well seems to be the way to avoid it. Check out the full episode of “Be a Happier Parent” Ep 14: “Get Better at Being Angry” with @samparkeruk Link in Bio.

I love Sam’s idea that to express anger properly we need confidence and to feel secure. Check out the full episode. “Be a Happier Parent” Ep 14: Get Better at Being Angry with @samparkeruk Link in Bio

“Gallup poll shows that women have overtaken men in terms of feeling anger.” It was great to talk through this incredibly complex emotion and how it can help and hinder us with the author of “Good Anger” @samparkeruk Please subscribe to the “Be a Happier Parent” Podcast to get the full ep when it drops tomorrow. Feeling furious? What does it do to our stress levels? When I saw that Sam Parker had written a book called 'Good Anger' I knew I had to ask him on Stressed But Well Dressed Podcast to talk about it. Anger and stress are emotions that so often go hand in hand - how often do you hear someone feel angry and relaxed or angry and calm? Sam talks about the different types of anger (anger out and anger in), how anger impacts our mental health and how anger can be stereotyped and gendered (yes we have even found a way to make it more permissible for certain people to be angry). I love his explanation of 'Good Anger' “So good anger is when we experience the feeling without any shame, listen to it calmly, act on it wisely and use it in a way that makes our lives better, not worse.” We talk about: 1. What happens when you are angry at the world 2. What anger can do to our mental health 3. Sam's tips on how to deal with angry people It's a fascinating insight into one of our most common emotions (Gallup's 2025 workplace survey explains 21% of us feel anger on a daily basis at work) Raging? Have a listen through the link in the bio or through searching 'Stressed But Well Dressed' wherever you get your podcasts Thank you so much for all your support as SBWD continues to grow! August has been an incredible month for the show and I can't wait to show you what is next. If you enjoy the show please remember to send me your feedback, leave a review and share it with a friend! @samparkeruk
