On a cold November morning we gathered in stylist Rikke Wackerhausen Sejersen’s cosy Copenhagen studio. A beautiful space that she shares with husband Casper and friend Elizabeth. The occasion was shooting Collection 09 from the wonderful young designer @nicklasskovgaard. The team was tight knit. Photographer @josephinelochen, stylist @rikkewackerhausen, make-up artist @trineskjoeth and Model @aivita.muze and myself doing hair. The shoot had a lovely sense of freedom to it and creation was effortless, from the wonderful mood boards with old family photos to actually playing around with lighting, make-up, styling and hair on the day. We have all known each other for a long time and the trust was an important part of making fun and beautiful images. The exquisite milky light created by Josephine perfectly complimented the douched out make up tones and made the slightly kitschy old fashion hair seem fresh. The collection from Nicklas had elements ranging from 80’s flashdance, to baroque with a little granny touch, that made it easy to get inspired. I used the @dysonbeauty airwrap with a 20mm barrel to set the hair roller style. The set lasted throughout the day and the brilliant Aivita played along with all the changes and made them all feel like one character. The eighties references in the collection kept giving me Princess Diana vibes and the brush strokes was a direct translation of this. Towards the end of the reel you can catch a few behind the scenes moments from this gorgeous day of studio fun. It truly felt like a creative playdate, as shoots do at their best.
