One of my favourite projects that I Art Directed. Everyone combined as one to deliver the vision as it existed in pre-existence. The most rewarding experience is collaborating with best-in-their-field artists and realising that you align not just technically but in tastes also. It reminds me of when my siblings and I as children used to play 33RPM records at 45RPM and took turns on watch out duty for my dad out the window who could come back from work any minute. I believe passions lay dormant from childhood waiting for a catalyst in later life. “Apartamento” a moment captured by Casablanca Paris. The Casablanca Paris SS22 Accessory Line imagined through the lens of 1984 Japan and the worldwide design movements of the time that partly inspired the collection. One for the books, “Chasing The Ghosts of Palestinian Rock & Roll” Such a pleasure working with you @liorzh_ Art Direction by Rashid Babiker @rashidbabiker Art by Gabriel Picard @liorzh_ Thank you @aminakaabi & @sam3an ❤️ “In the 1960s, Al-Bara’em gave Palestine its first taste of Arabic rock n roll. Together, they wrote songs that captured the spirit of a generation, songs sung in Arabic for a future that felt increasingly out of reach. First known as The Blooms, then reborn as Al-Bara’em shortly after the Israeli invasion of 1967, the band — Emile Ashrawi, Samir Ashrawi, Alexandra Ashrawi — would create music heavy with the tones of blues and freedom. They also added George Qurmoz on guitar and Daoud Saadeh on bass. Later, George Qurmoz left for the United States. And then, he disappeared. For GQ Middle East, Sama’an Ashrawi — the son of Emile, Al-Bara’em’s singer — writes about his journey looking for the ghost his family once knew.”
