few more favourite moments with women from Halakki Vokkaliga. Each gesture and interaction, was filled with such warmth that spoke volumes about their collective way of life. So much of learning on resilience, beauty, identity, and belonging. Photography for JourneyofObjects.

Photography for JourneyOfObjects. Documented the beautiful women of Halakki Vokkaliga tribe in Karnataka. I was in awe of their beautiful sari drapes, jewellery, sense of community, folk songs. It was an enriching and learning experience to witness a living archive of heritage and culture. Excited to be sharing more from this interaction and experience.

LSS LETTER #11 🧡🧡🧡 One of my favourite things to watch is photographers stopping unwitting strangers on the streets for their photos – the reaction is always so endearing. Sometimes, of course, not! But that hasn’t been the experience of Delhi and Ajmer based photographer Naveli Choyal who has made capturing the culture of the streets her modus operandi. In her ongoing series, she shifts her lens to the jewellery and artful adornment of the people from her hometown — a sun-softened drape folded overhead, curling henna on arcs of hands and feet, toe rings and anklets that announce the wearer and lac bangles and watches that glint as they go about their quotidian lives. Here street style is everyday life. “There’s a relevance to age-old objects in today’s fast-paced world,” she says in an interview with LSS. Not a reboot. Not a rebrand. A beginning. Object Speak marks the next chapter in our journalism—where fashion, craft, and crime converge. Here, the storytellers are the contributors themselves: the reporter, the designer, the editor, the stylist, and beyond. Our pursuit remains the same: a Journalism of Touch. But on 26.7.25, we shift our senses to sound. Guiding the conversation are @parth.mn1991 @suketdhir @misspriyansha @bhanujkappal @navelichoyal and Nikita Saxena, with @abhi_meer bringing music to the people of Bombay. We meet at the apartment 6 PM onwards. Link in bio. Join us.
