In 2022, when news leaked on TMZ that Wilson petitioned a judge to let her drop her father Elon Musk’s last name, it was the first time much of the public learned of her existence. It seemed almost beyond belief that the supervillain had a beautiful, hilarious trans daughter. She was celebrated as a kind of martyr icon, especially when she started speaking out against him.
