If London has CSM and Paris has IFM, Tokyo has Bunka Fashion College. Founded in 1923, Bunka built its reputation as Japan’s most influential incubator of talent on razor-sharp technical training paired with the kind of conceptual boldness that shapes entire movements. Its alumni list is more of a hall of fame: Yohji Yamamoto, Kenzo Takada, Junya Watanabe, Tsumori Chisato, Chitose Abe—designers who have, beyond defining Japanese fashion globally, reshaped how the world dresses. ‘100 Nights of Hero’, Julia Jackman’s buzzy period comedy-drama featuring @charli_xcx, debuted at Venice Film Festival this week as a resounding victory for indie films. “Getting independent movies made in Britain is an increasingly hard task,” writes @douglasgrnwd. “And it’s reassuring that award winners and A-listers are willing to throw their weight behind small-budgeted, big-brained films.” Read the full review at the link in bio.

The most talked-about premiere at Venice so far, ‘The Voice of Hind Rajab’ by Oscar-nominated director Kaouther Ben Hania received a 23-minute standing ovation at the film festival yesterday. After being selected to play at the Venice Film Festival, a slew of significant figures in Hollywood including Jonathan Glazer, Brad Pitt, Rooney Mara, Joaquin Phoenix, and Alfonso Cuaron joined the project as executive producers. "To watch 'The Voice of Hind Rajab' is to witness the horror of our reality, and to sit in the feeling that Hind is not alone," writes @douglasgrnwd. “She’s part of a statistic that will grow greater as you’re in the movie theater. The prevailing question as those credits roll: Why?" Read the full review at the link in bio.

His new besties are Yorgos Lanthimos and Emma Stone, and his first ever movie just premiered at Venice Film Festival. The star of Lanthimos’ ‘Bugonia,’ 21-year-old Aidan Delbis plays Don, the younger cousin of Jesse Plemons’ Teddy. In the movie, the pair plot to kidnap Stone’s pharma CEO character Michelle, convinced she’s an alien intent on destroying earth. From school life to the red carpets of Venice is a crazy jump, so we asked Delbis to send us his highlights of his short time with ‘Bugonia.’ “It’s fancy,” he said of his time at the festival. “I like seeing the cast again and Yorgos. I'm only disappointed that I haven't seen a ghost in the hotel.”
