Heroine 22 – Future Perfect
Out now
In honour of @giorgioarmani’s enduring legacy, we revisit moments when his craft stood front and centre in Heroine over the years.
Armani Group have just announced the passing of the legendary and pioneering designer Giorgio Armani at the age of 91. Il Signor Armani, as he was known throughout the industry, founded his namesake brand in Milan in 1975. Throughout the 1980s and 90s, he became a leading name in menswear, becoming known for his slouchy double-breasted suits which defined the era’s sartorial language. In 1981, he established Emporio Armani, a sister brand which focused on more contemporary silhouettes and aimed at the youth market. Both brands still show during Milan Fashion Week, and continue to push the boundaries of tailoring and relaxed formalwear. Armani Group released a statement saying that Armani “passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. Indefatigable to the end, he worked until his final days, dedicating himself to the company, the collections, and the many ongoing and future projects… Giorgio Armani always made independence – of thought and action – his hallmark. The company is, now and always, a reflection of this spirit. His family and employees will carry the Group forward in respect and continuity of these values.” This was accompanied by a statement from Armani’s employees and family: “In this company, we have always felt like part of a family. Today, with deep emotion, we feel the void left by the one who founded and nurtured this family with vision, passion, and dedication. But it is precisely in his spirit that we, the employees and the family members who have always worked alongside Mr. Armani, commit to protecting what he built and to carrying his company forward in his memory, with respect, responsibility, and love.”
This season, @anndemeulemeester_official designer @stefanogallici and his team ventured to Ghost Ranch – the remote New Mexico landscape once home to Georgia O’Keeffe, whose stark, mystical visions created there served as the FW25 collection’s spiritual blueprint. Photographed by Silken Weinberg , the accompanying campaign expands this narrative, capturing spectral figures adrift in the desert, their silhouettes echoing O’Keeffe’s gift for translating silence into shape, colour, and form. Blending the Parisian house’s inherent melancholic romance with a desert psychedelia, the FW25 collection – titled Road to Never – continues Gallici’s exploration of Americana references and sensibilities following recent trips to the West Coast. Alessandro Michele is not interested in constant reinvention. In the text accompanying @maisonvalentino’s Fall-Winter 25-26 campaign, he speaks about “not opening a new chapter, rather delving into a theme already unfolding.” He continues: “I chose not to consume the latest thing. Rather, I decided to let the images and the interrogations sediment and grow within a vertical excavation.” Hence, we return to the infamous red public toilets where Michele staged his Fall-Winter 25-26 show, a place where “private and relational dimension mingle.” Waiting outside the stalls are a number of famous faces, such as singer @clairo and performance artist @kembrapfahler_. In his vision of the campaign, Michele quotes Hannah Arendt’s writings on the relationship between being and appearing. “Clothes certify their status of second skin,” he writes. “The means through which we decide to show ourselves on the stage of life.”

Back in March, Sarah Burton made her @givenchy debut in the house’s headquarters to a resounding seal of approval, delivering a collection inspired by a series of calico patterns found in Hubert de Givenchy’s original atelier from his 1952 debut collection. Now comes the release of FW25’s accompanying campaign, presented as a portrait of multi-generational womanhood. “The beauty of all women inspires me – including my team. I wanted to capture the brilliant women I work with amongst the cast – real moments with everyone working together,” said Burton. Shot by Collier Schorr, the campaign stars the likes of supermodels Adut Akech, Vittoria Ceretti, Kaia Gerber and Liu Wen alongside Burton’s longtime creative collaborators, stylist Camilla Nickerson and make-up artist Lucia Pieroni.
@haileybieber and @roses_are_rosie star in @anthonyvaccarello’s Fall @ysl campaign alongside @anokyai, @lolibahiaa and @liuwenlw.
“This campaign, my first, grows on the spare narrative of my debut show. The steamy mirrors and the idea of being in a private room are the same... In vivid light, the naked truth behind their cinematic sophistication peaks a boo, and seduces.” @h.a releases his debut @tomford campaign, reflecting the sensual subversion of his Winter 2025 collection for a set of images photographed by @markrkean.
Kate Moss and Chloë Sevigny for @ysl, shot in LA by @mertalas! Major! Titled Velvet Heat, the Fall 2025 campaign sees the two icons hanging out together wearing @anthonyvaccarello’s latest collection. 👏 🔥
Sofia Coppola will premiere a documentary about her longtime friend, Marc Jacobs, at this year’s Venice Film Festival. Titled ‘Marc by Sofia’, this will be Coppola’s first documentary to date. Details are sparse about what exactly will be covered in Coppola’s doc, but given Jacobs’ vast career, we could be in for a blockbuster. Read more at hero-magazine.com
