One of my first runway memories from NYC in my early 20s is walking for Donna Karan which was such an intimate and fun experience. All the girls would be in Donna’s midtown studio hanging out with her family backstage getting ready. Such a vibrant energy, so much laughter and warmth ❤️ I have worked with Donna many times over the years, even did a campaign with my son when he was a little boy 💘 So great to be back with the DK team once again 😻 @donnakaran

My mother, Elsa sailed from Peru to Denmark via Belgium on a cargo ship when she was 17 years old. Her beloved aunt, Yolanda took one single photo of her, my grandma Angelica and a friend as they stood on the deck waiving goodbye. My mom was excited and anxious at the same time. She had no idea what was waiting for her on the other side of the world. As it turned out she would find the love of her life, get married to my dad, have two daughters and live in Denmark for the rest of her life. Last week her and I went back to Peru to visit her 96 year old aunt, after 60 years of them not seeing each other (for so many reasons, another story). It was a beautiful and very emotional reunion ♥️ They talked and shed tears but mostly laughed. Spending time w my mom and our family in beautiful Lima again was a very profound experience and made me immensely proud of my Peruvian and Danish heritage 🇵🇪 ❤️ 🇩🇰
