Drawing on his affinity for poetry, Weightless At Last reads like a 5-year visual diary that eschews traditional narrative elements, presenting a story through shadowy vignettes of fine art photography and off-the-cuff snapshots that push the autobiographical and the universal, a unique eye the artist wields. There’s comfort in believing photographs document the reality of things, but reality doesn’t belong to us. We’re bound to see everything differently, and what lingers in these collected fragments isn’t fact.
