It is the attention to details that makes this place so magical; this is possible thanks to the cooperation of Elena Lops, the artist and designer Draga Obradovic and Stefano Guidotti. Following an accurate search, artists such as Valentine Herrenschmidt and Katrine Arens were chosen, as well as some of the most successful designers, among which Paola Navone. We chose furniture especially created by local craftsmen to communicate a sense of belonging. The magic released by this place makes it the ideal location not only for wedding ceremonies, but also for vernissages, photo exhibitions, fashion shows and events. Dimora delle Balze // Our spaces Bought in September 2009, Dimora delle Balze is a nineteenth-century estate in which time doesn’t seem to have passed. The walls, the doors and the ceilings tell fascinating stories filled with a Mediterranean scent, eager to be listened to. The estate has a big quadrangular courtyard which, on its left side, is overlooked by the rooms formerly destined to the farmer’s dwelling, to the storage, and to the stables. In the right wing, instead, an ancient gate leads to the manor-house. The interior is composed of a large number of rooms, where there are authentic and suggestive Rinascimento frescoes, brought back to their original splendour. Last but not least, the Manor Garden, formerly enhanced by stone benches, today hosting the remains of the pre-existing classical columns and terraces, set up with armchairs and custom-made design objects. Through a preservative restoration characterised by a detailed research of unique objects, vintage and design elements, the fascination of the Mediterranean past is passed down, synthesis of the island’s invasions, harmoniously blending with the contemporary taste. 8 Albe // Third edition “Tramonti: Cosmogonie e fine dei Mondi ” Curated by Lucia Pietroiusti We are deeply grateful to all the artists who took part in the third edition of 8 Albe, and to our curator Lucia Pietroiusti. 
The theme “Tramonti: cosmogonies and the end of worlds” unfolded through powerful and diverse voices, inviting the audience into a dialogue between origins and transformations, between human experience and the natural cycles that surround us. A heartfelt thanks goes to all the collaborators and partners who made this edition possible, and above all to the audience, who embraced the screenings of these four evenings with such attention and sensitivity. Annunciata Room // L’Annunciata junior suite is one of the lavishly appointed rooms in the estate. Set in the former manor home of the noble Barone delle Balze family, the spacious room still holds traces of the home’s original ornamentation. Dominated by a vaulted red ceiling painted a shade of deep red, an ornate crystal chandelier and a monumental custom headboard by the designer Draga Obradovich, all of which complement and contrast the forest green and cream-coloured sheets by Signoria Firenze. One of the room’s most impressive features is its luxurious “salle de bain,” complete with a freestanding soaker tub that has been placed in the centre of the room like a sculpture. L’Annunciata is a painting by Antonello da Messina from 1476 and is still kept in nearby Palermo. The bright face of Mary slowly emerges against a black background, turned towards the interlocutor and is represented in three-quarters, painted in the Flemish style.
