Seasonal summary of an august birthday rotation, autumnal travels, all season fears, friendships, nature and finding Agape type of love-frequencies between silver lined Alhamdulilah’s. XOXO

Fall/Winter diary; and it sort of smells like….frankincense, sage & pine. But reads like a high priestess tarot card and an old, wild, long bedouin poem and things I currently find beautiful, mostly silver, the desert, Botticelli paintings, and horses.

Virgo season is my birthday season, it was two moons in two different lands. It was summer summarized. It was tears. It was energy. But most of all it was love, after what’s been an intensely hard year of seed sowing and growing pains. Thank you to everyone whose spirit was a part of my annual blessing count. And a big Alhamdulilah to nature, for the timely reminder that everything you need will find you.

When the sisterhood calls, you answer. So when @butheinahk asked me to direct her in a Khaleeji-Gucci dreamscape there was only one simple and sincere, yes. I’m honored to get to be one of the few female directors who get to put pioneer stories like this out into the world and create legacy through beauty and strength of my fellow women in this industry. It was important for me to tap into this energy while evoking Butheina’s personal journey and her reverential love for cinema. The birthday notes over this week have felt like a mixtape of love from everyone, at a time where joy feels scarce and challenge a new normal. Thank you. I wish us all strength as we channel our darkest fears to face the unknown every morning with a grace that goes unrivaled. Because we’re still in it, fighting the good fight.
