Three years ago, I had the pleasure of acting and dancing in my first movie, directed by the amazing Sein Lyan Tun @poseidon_cyan. The film is called Everybody’s Gotta Love Sometimes, and I’m thrilled to share a new excerpt with you. The movie has been selected for @queerspectrumfilmfest by the @irishfilminstitute and will be screening June 14th in Dublin. I’m especially proud to be part of a project that raises awareness about the lives and struggles of queer immigrants. It means a lot to me to contribute, through this role, to a story that gives visibility to voices that are too often unheard. A special thank you to @panorama__films and the entire film team for this beautiful journey. -More on the movie- Everybody’s Gotta Love Sometimes by Sein Lyan Tun is a hauntingly tender portrayal of what it means to search for love when the world has tried to make you unlovable. Set in Paris, the film follows Phyo, a queer Burmese immigrant attempting to rebuild his life after fleeing trauma and violence Beneath the city’s romantic surface lies the quiet loneliness of displacement - the ache of navigating foreign streets with a heart still heavy from home. Tun captures the raw, unscripted moments of survival and desire that exist between broken languages, uncertain status, and the desperate need for belonging. ‘For many queer immigrants from the Global South, Europe is seen as a sanctuary - a place where freedom and safety are possible. But Everybody's Gotta Love Sometimes shatters that illusion with grace and grit. À propos de KHĀTAT خاطَتْ —Elle a cousu avec de l’or— Une partie de mon héritage syrien a été étouffée, souvent laissée sous silence. J’ai toujours senti que certains fils avaient été discrètement mis de côté, jamais pleinement assumés. Au fil des années, un appel discret s’est fait plus fort non pas pour revenir à quelque chose de figé, mais pour retisser quelque chose d’essentiel. Cette performance est un acte de réparation, un appel à la reconnexion, et une quête de paix intérieure non seulement avec mon héritage, mais aussi avec les parts de moi façonnées par les ruptures de vie. Mon travail s’ancre profondément dans la réparation : par le mouvement, la forme, et les architectures émotionnelles que nous portons. KHÂTAT est une figure poétique née de ce processus, une figure qui reprend possession de ce qui a été tu ou fragmenté. Elle devient un espace de transformation pour toute personne qui s’est sentie déconnectée d’elle-même ou de son histoire. Ce qui se brise ne disparaît pas, cela se transforme. La vulnérabilité, lorsqu’elle est embrassée, devient une force tranquille. Rester aligné avec la vérité dans un monde façonné par le bruit, la peur et la déconnexion demande du courage. C’est là le défi profond de l’artiste aujourd’hui : non pas simplement survivre aux systèmes, mais continuer à croire en l’honnêteté, la subtilité et l’incarnation. Cette performance s’adresse à celles et ceux qui marchent sur ce chemin. Pour moi, ce parcours est sacré et il porte le poids de quelque chose comme de l’or. About KHĀTAT خاطَتْ —She sewed with gold— Part of my Syrian heritage has been muted, often left unspoken. I always sensed that some threads were quietly tucked away, never fully claimed. Over the past years, a quiet call has grown louder not to return to something fixed, but to reweave something essential. This performance is an act of repair, a call for reconnection, and a search for soul-level peace not only with my heritage, but with the parts of myself shaped by the ruptures of life. My work is essentially rooted in repair: through movement, form, and the emotional architectures we carry. KHĀTAT is a poetic figure born of this process. One who reclaims what has been silenced or fragmented. It becomes a space of transformation for anyone who has felt disconnected from themselves or their story. What breaks doesn’t vanish, it transforms. Vulnerability, when embraced becomes quiet strength. To stay aligned with truth in a world shaped by noise, fear, and disconnection takes courage. That’s the deeper challenge of being an artist today: not just to endure systems, but to keep believing in honesty, subtlety, and embodiment. This performance is for anyone who walks that path. For me, that journey is sacred and it carries the weight of something like gold.
