The Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani has died at the age of 91. Widely credited as the most important of his generation - and a linchpin of Italian culture - Mr Armani created and led a company that began with menswear and evolved into a global juggernaut spanning womenswear, glittering red-carpet worthy couture and more. Born in Piacenza, Italy, in July 1934, Armani served two years of military service before landing a job at a Milanese department store where he found a love for menswear. He worked for Cerruti before stepping out on his own. His impassioned celebrity fans include everyone from Robert De Niro to Tom Cruise and Anne Hathaway to Zendaya. In a statement released today, the company paid tribute to their long standing leader: “With deep emotion, we feel the void left by the one who founded and nurtured this family with vision, passion, and dedication. But it is precisely in his spirit that we, the employees and the family members who have always worked alongside Mr. Armani, commit to protecting what he built and to carrying his company forward in his memory, with respect, responsibility, and love.” The news came amidst a year of fiftieth anniversary celebrations for the brand and weeks before a special Milan Fashion Week show at which Armani had planned to mark the occasion. The news is expected to be met with an outpouring of grief in Italy where Mr Armani is more than a household name. A private funeral has been scheduled. Giorgio Armani shot for Style in December 2019 by Anton Corbijn.

“I grew up around women. I believe that we can teach each other so much. I’m always thinking about how unselfish we are and the things we need to hear and how much pressure there is being a woman. I try to write songs that will bring out the best in all of us and keep us close together.” Happy B’Day… That’s right, it’s Beyonce’s 44th birthday and to celebrate we’re taking a look back at the time she graced the cover of Style in 2011. On this wily, windy evening the trailer for Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights has landed and with it our first look at Margot Robbie as Cathy and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff. While sneak peeks at the project have divided audiences so far there’s no doubt all eyes are on Fennell’s as she takes on Emily Brontë’s gothic masterpiece. Set for cinemas in early February 2026 you’d be wise to start growing those mutton chops out now… Thoughts? Video: Warner Bros.
Calling all murder mystery addicts: a first look of the third instalment of the Knives Out franchise has just landed. The new film, ‘Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery’, will see the return of Southern detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) ready to solve his ‘most dangerous case yet’ alongside an A-list line-up including Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close and Mila Kunis. Out in UK cinemas on 28th November, we’re ready to get stuck into this guilty pleasure. Will you be watching? Images: Netflix
Marc Jacobs and Sofia Coppola have arrived in Venice for the premiere of Marc by Sofia. The project, which is Coppola’s first move into the documentary space, presents an intimate portrait of @themarcjacobs life as one of fashion’s biggest names and follows on from 30 years of friendship and collaboration. While a release date is yet to be announced we can confirm we have this one firmly on our to-watch list. Images: Getty
It might be full-on black tie in Venice right now, but over at the Telluride Film Festival in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado, you’ll spot Hollywood’s cool crowd kicking it in a more casual manner. From Paul Mescal to Jeremy Allen White, the sartorial choice of the week seems to be... the denim jacket? Hold the tuxedo! Images: Getty
While all eyes might be on the red carpet at Venice Film Festival, it’s daytime and dockside that those in the know take their cues from. See effortlessly cool tailoring from Charlotte Rampling and Emma Corin, or turn to Tilda Swinton and Greta Lee for a masterclass in all-white styling. Bellissimo!
September might be here but there’s no need to dig out the woolly jumpers just yet. From zesty brights to warm ambers, roll into autumn wearing ‘sundowner shades’. To find out how to brighten up your back-to-school wardrobe, head to the link in our bio now.
