✴︎ TRANSLATOR -daydreams-Archive Subconscious mind A place within a person that cannot be perceived, Something primitive and essential before it becomes language or emotion, A world that is neither reality nor a dream. As I erase my own existence, What is reflected on the boundary between consciousness and the deep psyche? I feel the boundary between my body and my mind.
✴︎ TRANSLATOR~daydreams〜 2024.12/4 - 12/8 12:00-18:00 at CONTRAST 1-49-4-1F & B1F Tomigaya, Shibuya-ku Tokyo, JAPAN Daydreaming refers to the experience of imagining or fantasizing while awake during the day, where one sees 'dream-like images' of non-realistic scenarios as if they were actually happening in reality. This exhibition is an installation work aimed at uncovering concepts without words that exist between the real world and the world of consciousness. It is based on the exploration of the mysteries and sense of unease felt at the "boundary created by consciousness," reflecting on and experimenting with this notion. Reality and unreality, common sense and nonsense, body and mind, self and others, the social framework of concepts. Is what we unconsciously perceive and distinguish in our everyday lives truly real? Or, does it even exist? These questions serve as a trigger to reflect on the concept of boundaries, with the goal of discovering previously unnoticed perspectives through the installation. When the boundaries we perceive begin to blur, I hope to evoke the moment of a "dream" experienced while awake, allowing you to feel the ambiguity of those boundaries.

✴︎ Oblivion and Recollection The theme of “Utsutsu” When I contemplate the term 'utsutsu,' I delve into the passage of time, the boundary between reality and unreality, ultimately arriving at oblivion and recollection. Massed entities shatter, and those without mass are forgotten. Memory is an eternal cycle of forgetting and recollecting, each instance casting doubt on whether it truly occurred in reality. Within the repetition of oblivion and recollection, memories undergo constant change, with eternal constancy remaining elusive. Into the transparent realm of memory and recollection, I strive to express the intangible through mass, making it a part of the ever-evolving tapestry of recollections. In the realm of 'utsutsu,' this cycle persists until the mass of the physical body perishes, undergoing repeated transformations and ultimately fading into oblivion. The world is brimming with contradictions between 'utsutsu' and reality."
