この度、CONTRASTは美術家・三澤亮介 @ryosuke_misawa_53 の個展「Ryu-sen」を9/20(土)から9/28(日)まで開催いたします。 本展は、写真家としての経験を礎に「光」という不可視の存在を主題化し、絵画的言語によって再構築する試みです。光を単なる物理現象としてではなく、時間や空間、記憶、身体感覚を媒介しながら、万物の根源に共鳴する普遍的なテーマとして追究しています。 画面に連続するグラデーションは、筆致や色彩が幾層にも重なり合い、人間の営為や思考、感情の流動を象徴します。それは、絶えず変化する〈流線〉のように鑑賞者の身体を通じて世界と呼応し続けます。一方、直線的な構成はその流れを切断しながらも、画面に秩序としての痕跡を刻み込みます。流動と静止、偶然と必然、混沌と構造といった相反する要素を並置することで、宇宙や社会がいかにその存在を編み上げるのかを可視化しようとしています。 また、タイトル「Ryu-sen」が示すように、作品のみならず展示空間全体の動線設計にも着目しました。光は一方向に流れるのではなく、折れ返し、交差し、反射しながら多層的に展開します。その眼差しの痕跡は、幼少期の庭先に差し込む斜光や都市の夕暮れの陰り、アトリエで淡く甦る記憶など、個人的な体験を通じて統合され、鑑賞者との対話を生み出します。 光を「美の原点」として据えることで、作品は単なる視覚的快感を超え、鑑賞者それぞれの内的世界を刺激し、共鳴の場を開きます。そこに浮かび上がるのは、アバンギャルド的文脈における〈救済〉という芸術の根源的な命題です。未だ見ぬ世界を予感させ、傷ついた魂を照らし出すこと──本展が志向するのは、その小さな〈聖域〉を呼び起こすことにあります。 「Ryu-sen」を通じて、光という目に見えないエネルギーが織りなす普遍性と美しさ、秩序と混沌が交錯する美の様式を提示します。静かに共振するひとときをぜひご体感ください。 ー オープニングパーティー：9/19(金) 18:00 - 21:00 会期：9/20(土) - 9/28(日) 水 - 金：14:00 - 19:00 土・日・祝：12:00 - 19:00 休館日：月 入場料：無料 会場：CONTRAST

CONTRASTでは、レベッカ・メルリック @rebi.me の個展「喫茶店ウィーン」開催にあたり、7/25(金) 18:00から21:00まで、作家在廊のもとオープニングパーティーを行います。 皆様のお越しをお待ちしています。 ー プロフィール ヨーロッパを拠点に活動するデジタルアーティスト、建築家、映像作家。ウィーン美術アカデミーのシニア・サイエンティストとして、アートとリサーチの領域を横断した実践を行っている。 仮想空間を、現実との境界を越える手段ではなく、多様な表現やアイデンティティが交差する「包摂的な場」として捉え直し、インタラクティブな体験として提示することに取り組む。 自身の移動経験にも根ざしながら、アイデンティティ、政治性、集合性をテーマに、脱植民地主義やフェミニズムの視点から作品を展開。建築、都市論、メディアアート、人類学、ゲームデザイン、執筆、アーティスティック・リサーチなど多領域を横断する。 受賞歴に、マリアンネ・フォン・ヴィレマー・デジタルメディア賞（2020）、DKB VRアート賞（2023）、Content Vienna（2023）、テオドール・ケルナー芸術科学賞（2023）など。 近年は、SLAMDANCE（アメリカ）、Belvedere21（オーストリア）、ADAF（ギリシャ）、アルス・エレクトロニカ（オーストリア）、オーストリア文化フォーラム東京（日本）ほか、国際的な展覧会に多数参加。 ー CONTRAST is pleased to host an opening party for Rebecca Merlic's @rebi.me solo exhibition “Kissaten Vienna.” The event will take place on 7/25 (Fri) from 18:00 to 21:00, with the artist in attendance. We look forward to your visit. ー Profile Rebecca Merlic is a digital artist, architect, and filmmaker based in Europe. As a senior scientist at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, she conducts cross-disciplinary research and practice at the intersection of art and academia. Rather than using virtual space as a means of escaping reality, Merlic reimagines it as an inclusive site where diverse forms of expression and identity can intersect, often presented through interactive experiences. Drawing from her own experiences of migration, her work explores themes of identity, politics, and collectivity through the lenses of decolonial and feminist theory. Her interdisciplinary practice spans architecture, urban theory, media art, anthropology, game design, writing, and artistic research. Her accolades include the Marianne.von.Willemer Prize for Digital Media (2020), the DKB VR Art Prize (2023), Content Vienna (2023), and the Theodor Körner Prize for Art and Science (2023). In recent years, she has participated in numerous international exhibitions, including SLAMDANCE (USA), Belvedere 21 (Austria), ADAF (Greece), Ars Electronica (Austria), and the Austrian Cultural Forum Tokyo (Japan).

CONTRAST is pleased to present “Kissaten Vienna,” a solo exhibition by Europe-based digital artist, architect, and filmmaker, Rebecca Merlic @rebi.me, from 7/26 (Sat) to 8/3 (Sun). This immersive, interactive project digitally documents and reconstructs the deeply human culture of the kissaten—a traditional Japanese-style coffeehouse—rooted in both Japanese and Viennese social life. More than just kissaten, these spaces are places for quiet reflection, community, and daily rituals. They hold the layered stories of those who built, worked in, and visited them. Yet many kissaten have disappeared due to urban redevelopment and generational change. Rather than simply recording these places, the project revives them as “memory spaces” in digital form—a new kind of archive that passes on their presence and connections to the future. Merlic visited kissaten across Japan and Vienna, engaging with owners and regulars while 3D-scanning architecture, furnishings, and atmosphere. She also captured owners’ voices and bodies as 3D avatars, reconstructing each kissaten’s unique mood and memory. Additionally, she created three sculptures combining actual cups and furniture used in kissaten with rare porcelain from the MAK Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna. Alongside these sculptures, visitors can experience a playable visual novel within a digitally reconstructed kissaten. Like a game, they are invited to freely explore the spaces, discovering hidden objects and fragments of memory. We invite you to step into these digitally preserved kissaten to wander, observe, and rediscover the memories and connections that once flourished there.
