Aesop Guangzhou Baiyun Airport T2: an enveloping extrusion. The remaining section of ancient Guangzhou’s Ming dynasty-era city walls is a reminder of the metropolis’s history of clay brick production. At our airport store nearby, unglazed bricks produced in Jiangsu Province are used, their distinctive cavities the result of being passed through a vacuum chamber and extrusion die before being individually wire-cut. They form a contemporary interpretation of that wall—a curved fortification against the sense of placelessness often felt in such terminals.

New Above Us, Steorra Eau de Parfum centres on an exchange between a radically unfiltered streak of Cardamom—which soars from sizzling spice in the opening notes, to glimmering warmth in the base—and a unique ‘fabulist accord’ that conjures the imagined scent of Amber. A material endeavour—inspired by Geranium Leaf Body Care.    Until 14 September, a three-part expedition unfolds in our Singapore stores, where new frontiers in alternative materials are explored through a collaboration with material studio OTHER MATTER. Here, design installations crafted from algae-based bioplastics celebrate nature’s ingenuity and sensorial bounty.

Green, citrus and fresh, since 1998 our Geranium Leaf Body Care range has been offering evergreen exhilaration—and it would seem, inspiration, as it recently moved @stephanie_somebody to create this invigorating video collage.

Aesop Mosman: an invitation to pause. Designed with long-time collaborator Clare Cousins, this store’s interior was inspired by a 1929 painting depicting the enclave of Mosman on Sydney’s lower North Shore. The space unfolds in a rich palette of terracotta tiles, blush walls, and chocolate-hued marble. From the light-filled front parlour one can peer through to the Fragrance Armoire, and beyond to a facial suite.

A rich blend of nut oils and citrus extracts, Geranium Leaf Body Balm is both exceptionally hydrating and aromatically enlivening.

Aesop Suria KLCC: ornamental domesticity. Within this store in Kuala Lumpur, our in-house design team abstracted certain elements of traditional Malay houses, creating somewhere to linger in cool comfort. Above the staggered shelves, a series of banisters in a refreshing mineral blue: the carved pieces of Nyatoh wood were sourced from demolished houses and reconfigured by a local carpenter.

As the day whiles away and mopeds speed by, light moves around Aesop San Lorenzo in Lucina, in Rome. On a bright day, colours dance over the travertine basin and at dusk, a warm glow emanates from within.
