After the blues and pinks of a punchy Paros the spiky browns and glowing orange of its salty little sister, an elemental Antiparos. Wild, wind whipped land with spilt sugar cube houses, blown accross the hills, spiked on prickly trees. Soundtracked by a melodic wind orchestra and a tinkling, goat bell chorus. Consumed by the elements; earth, rocks, salt, sea, wind, a place to feel not think. Feel small under giant starry skies, slivers of moon, saturns rings, crusoe beaches, bursting briny capers, tangy feta, wood fired fish, boats, balloons, birthdays. All washed in a sparkling sea under the rhythm of the pulsating neon sun. A salty spiral, slice of heaven sent 🌀 🤎🧡✨🐐 💨 (Though the homewards ferry can never again be spoken about 🤢)

Why the stoney face? 👀

Chips, cheeks and picnic peach. Lairy bourgonvilla, long lunches, snoozy snorkels, sleepy cats, swinging seats, sar-dines and shit head. A slower pace yet pigs that need to be passed, rock jumps, grumpy grumps but quiet please in natures library 🐚 🩵 🐟

Summer holi days…..allotment nights, pic nics, sour licks, fish n chips, reunited pals, wet suits, mammoth jumps, bike rides and super slides. Forest camps, sometimes damp but missed faces, growing fast, shooting stars, tiny fires and big bright sturgeon moons. Work experience, golden rings, late nights, park life, towpath breakfasts, egg baps, tops off. This is summer 🌞 🧡 ✨

Seems I can’t really get a handle on the ‘insta’ bit of things. Maybe it’s the ebb & flow of inner resistance…to the noise, to reconciling the dissonance, the discomfort at the privilege, the Zuckerberg mining. Maybe it’s just being busy. Likely it all. Seems pointless to post now but nice to have a reminder of happy times, the joy of human connection, the celebrations, the markers and memories of a full fat overstuffed June🍦 🍋 🇮🇹

This time last year went to the moon with a suitcase of flowers for @andyhillmanstudio and Louis Vuitton 🚀 🌸 Had close encounters with some alien mischief but as ever surrounded by a crack team we entered the 3rd dimension; spun, floated and levitated, built tunnels, stacked pyramids and moved mountains, all on the side of a black sand volcano in the sinking sun A full frontal elemental experience of earth wind and fire, missed the OG AH but thank you as ever for having me along for the ride 🌚 #stilllife #propstyling #propsourcing #closeencounters

‘The Flowers Stand Silently Witnessing’ by Theo Panagopoulos @theos_perspective A short film re-editing accidentally discovered, archive footage shot by and primarily featuring, Scottish missionary settlers in abundant Palestinian wildflower fields of the 1940’s, ‘an act of cultural reclamation that reframes the viewer’s perspective’ “The archives present a world my Palestinian grandparents knew well, a world that is currently being actively erased through current narratives, imagery & violence. My film reclaims the footage as a form of testimony in a heightened and uncertain time and as a form of resistance to cultural erasure” Out of the hours of archive footage only 2mins 19 seconds features Arab Palestinians, usually in the background or as a passing moment to the main focal point of the shot. “I trespass through his lens” Beautifully edited, ‘haunting meditation on land, loss and memory, questioning the role of image making as both a tool of testimony and violence’. Also the subject of my final year dissertation many moons ago - though without such a poetic outcome! Quiet and tender Peaceful and intensely powerful Especially poignant in such a harrowing week 🖤🕊️🍉🇵🇸 Not sure where else it can be seen at the moment but I came across it yesterday as part of the Soil exhibition at Somerset House https://www.theopanagopoulos.com/the-flowers-stand-silently-witnessing
