Welcome to the G SPOT @gggspot.art We’re honored to launch at @thearmoryshow with two artists whose work bends material, memory, and myth. @joshuawoods presents “Passages” five photographs from his journeys. Woods’ practice is shaped by the influence of his grandfather, who created intricate sculptures and dioramas from salvaged materials while working in Detroit. These works are windows into the geographies of the African diaspora. @rajachantal presents “Before you Land” a body of ceramic sculpt that move between rupture and renewal. These works embrace fracture as a form of language embodying endurance, resilience, and transformation. Passages | On view at @thearmoryshow with @gggspot.art Sept 4-7 Woods presents five photographs from personal journeys and commissions. The series explores how images act as thresholds, shifting between document and dream, and carrying multiple readings at once. Woods’ practice, shaped by his grandfather’s sculptures built from salvaged materials in Detroit, transforms the overlooked into vessels of memory. In these photographs, fleeting moments reveal themselves equally as constellations of ancestry, studies of presence, and passages where the personal and collective converge.
